$320k Rolls-Royce Wraith announced with Satellite-aided Transmission

Every time Rolls-Royce announce a new car, it is destined to make headlines in every luxury blog and zine. However, the Wraith tingled our geek nerves with the inclusion of cool technology in addition to the opulence. Powered by a V12 engine, paired to an 8-speed automatic ZF transition, the car can pump out 624 bhp and go from still to sixty in 4.4 seconds. It also boasts Rolls-Royce’s all new Satellite Aided Transmission. This system uses GPS data to anticipate the driver’s next move, holding the car’s current location as a parameter. This helps the car select the next most appropriate gear to tread the terrain ahead. In addition to this, there’s also voice activation and route assistance as many would expect. To make accessibility to the outside world easier, the company has included a one-touch call button on the steering wheel that integrates with voice commands.

The most powerful Rolls-Royce in history, Wraith promises the sense of adventure and speed that drove our founding forefather. But of course, Wraith’s starting point is luxury, refinement and quality, traits that remain as important to Rolls-Royce customers today as they were more than a century ago.” The Wraith will be available in Q4, 2013. It will arrive in Europ for €245,000 (about $319,137).
