• A remote control without batteries

  • batteryless remote
NEC Electronics has joined hands with Soundpower Corp to bring forth the first ‘battery-less’ remote control. The underlying technology involves a vibration based power generation device (from Soundpower) and a microcomputer (from NEC) that has RF remote controls that span a large frequency range and finally a power supply control technology that gets circuits working with just a wee bit of electricity. The remote has been announced on November 17th. It is on display today, at Embedded Technology 2009 in Japan.
