Analyst Says iPad Will Sport 1.2GHz Dual-core A9 Chip

This time a speculative update on iPad 2 does come from any of those insider folks or ninjas. An analyst Ming-Chi Kuo at Concord Securities has publicly let people know what exactly apple’s next tablet will sport. According to him there will be 1.2GHz Dual-core, ARM Cortex-A9 chip performance of which runs parallel to Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon and NVIDA’s upcoming Tegra 2 3D. The RAM here would remain the same with 512MB size but it would clock at 1,066MHz to deliver excellent working speed. The Retina Display looks unlikely but thinner attire and anti-reflective technology is definitely on the cards here. There could be two distinct version, the one being HSPA models for GSM carriers and EVDO for CDMA.
Other spec would include both front and back cameras with different resolutions to support augmented reality apps, video chat and movie recording. About 4.5 to 5 million iPads will be available when it hits the launch date this quarter. Also Apple has set up panels to deal with shortages which early jeopardized their demand-supply situation of iPad last year and caused unrest among buyer. Its only the official announcement that will tell us whether analyst Ming-Chi Kuo can really show that ‘i-told-you-so’ gesture to the world.
