Artist sends Space Invader to orbit the Earth
We’ve seen them capture our senses in their 8-bit simplicity. Now there’s something more tangible to the childhood fantasy of actual Space Invaders taking over the globe. Popular French urban artist who goes by the name ‘Invader’ has done it again and this time, it’s almost for real. How’d he go about it? Well, he tied his creatures to a plastic balloon, inflated with Helium. Armed with a camera and a GPS system and let go of the balloon that took 4 hours to attain the height of 35 km above the ground. The temperature up there was a freezing -80 degrees C.

If you’ve missed out on the whole thing, which is a great probability as of now, then you can catch it during Art Basel, the annual contemporary art fair held in Miami, in December.
