Yes, gas-powered beasts on wheels are quickly losing the spotlight to much cleaner and efficient vehicles that match up to the performance of a gas-guzzler ye outshine it when it comes to economy and efficiency. Recently, we received a little news about an Aston Martin doing the rounds at the Nürburgring racetrack in Germany. Well, this news wouldn’t have made it to us if this car wasn’t powered by hydrogen, making it the first of its kind to zip around the legendary Nürburgring.
An Aston Martin Hybrid Hydrogen Rapide S to be precise, this car made a four-hour run around the track and was driven by Aston Martin’s CEO himself, Dr. Ulrich Bez! Sporting a 6.0-liter V12 engine that can also be powered up by gasoline, in case of the absence of hydrogen, this Rapide S will also show up at Nürburgring’s 24-hour race that will flag-off on the 19th of May, 2013. There have been green cars racing down the Nürburgring before, but this Rapide S is the first hydrogen car to do the same.
