• Bionic Power’s PowerWalk knee braces generate energy on-the-go!

  • Carrying batteries around isn’t always the most suitable way for a soldier to power up. Canada’s Bionic Power has recently unveiled the PowerWalk system, an athletic knee brace that enables a user to power up on the go! Weighing in at 1.7 pounds, these brilliant innovations generate 12 watts of electricity. In essence, the PowerWalk generates electricity as the user walks and can generate enough to power up four cellphones!

These days, soldiers carry nearly 28 pounds of batteries while on 72-hour missions. These batteries are used to power up flashlights, night vision goggles and more. A system like the PowerWalk could help soldiers save nearly $135 a day in battery cost, helping the army save nearly $27,000 per soldier on an annual basis!
