• Casio’s new G-Shock connects to iPhone

  • Casio Japan has announced the G-Shock 2 the first of its rugged watches which are equipped with Bluetooth 4.0 (a low energy standard) which allow it to connect to an iPhone. Casio will be soon releasing an app which will allow users to check the incoming callers details on the watch, search for the phone by activating the iPhone alarm remotely from the watch itself, activate the vibration mode on the phone by pressing a few buttons on the watch and even sync the time automatically from the iPhone.

Maybe the next version will actually give the Pebble Watch a run for its money. The Casio G-Shock 2 goes on sale in Japan from October 2012 for 18,900 Yen ($ 240).
