Chinese suspended bed creates floating sensation for kids
Children can be appeased as easily as they can be fooled. We’ve seen a bevy of products from China that deceive grown-ups into believing that they’re buying originals. So why not do the same to kids, being a little less devious. So, the floating bed seems to be just what someone cooked up as an innovation that could make Ikea fans do a double-take. The bed isn’t really floating, per say, in fact, it is suspended from the ceiling. It looks pretty and just when you start wondering how ‘ornamentally useless’ it may be, you realize that it’s actually a major space saver. The bed collapses into the ceiling and neatly dismisses every trace of its presence in the room.

The Wang family is responsible for this innovative little creation. It’s good to see such tiny projects rolling out, inspiring a wider base of concept designers to do more. Space is a valid commodity in any house and the bed offers just that. Plus, when it’s in the ceiling it acts as a fine 1D chandelier.
