Denon preparing DSD-300 Portable and DSD-500 Wi-Fi speaker docks for iPad/iPod
Denon has always mesmerized us with its speakers and docking stations and it’s planning to rock the speaker dock market yet again with the DSD-500 and DSD-300 speaker docks. Scheduled to release sometime in August the speaker docks are iPad, iPhone and iPod compatible. The DSD-500 is equipped with two-way 25W speakers and is shaped like a cocoon for enhanced playback. The DSD-300 is drip-proof and comes with built-in battery that offers 5 hours of continuous playback, making it an ideal iPhone/iPod dock for the outdoors.

The speaker docks don’t claim to support AirPlay but come with Wi-Fi, which means you can also stream audio files from a PC or tablet and from Internet radio too. The DSD-500 and DSD-300 docking stations that connect to wireless home network also have a USB port each and supported file formats like MP3, WMA, WAV, FLAC, LPCM, priced at 60,000 Yen (approx. $750) and 50,000 Yen (approx. $650) they are worth taking home. There’s no word on when these would be made available in the U.S.
