• Exercising Art: An aesthetic climbing wall that hooks up with your iPhone

  • Climbing walls are a pretty good way of staying in shape and safely enjoying the hobby, especially if you live far off from good natural rock climbing spots. And if you are not too scared of heights, then very soon, you will fall in love with one of these and will spend more and more time at a local club that sports variety of climbing walls. But Munich-based design studio Lunar Europe has decided to take this a step further by offering climbing wall in your own home that is not just usable, but also is a sleek piece of modern art.


    The ergonomic and aesthetically shaped ‘Nova’ blends in with most of the sleek interior décor that homes sport these days and does away with the bulges that come in traditional climbing walls by placing cuts carefully in its frame, that act as footholds, you can latch on to. The idea is also taken a step further by providing sensors that will sync up with your iPhone and give you data about all your climbing sessions.

    While the idea does look great, it might come at a heavy price. And unless you are a climbing aficionado of the highest order, or some kind of X-Games champion in the sport, this might not really be all that appealing. But the idea sure is worth a look…
