• Fujitsu creates the first ever e-paper patient badges for hospitals

  • Fujitsu has teamed up with the Sapporo Shirakaba-dai Hospital to bring e-paper smarts for better management of patient care in the hospitals. Their joint venture has resulted into a clinical appointment guidance system that employs color e-paper and hooks itself to an electronic medical record system. These are primarily clip-on badges which can help patients right from the point they enter the hospital precincts until they return home hale and hearty. Apart from the color e-paper screen, they also have a wireless compoment and can survive a week with just a single charge. The hospital seeks to use this system for their inpatient ward as well as the outpatient clinic. It’s refreshing to see how health care segment is too warming up to the idea of integrating ‘cool’ technology with their services.
