Google Nexus One is it the official Google Phone or just another Android handset

Here’s more on the Google Phone front and I ain’t talkin’ just Android. A device being called the Nexus One that’s apparently made by the search giant’s favorite manufacturer HTC, seems to have popped out of the woodwork again, throwing a little more light on this ‘Google Phone’ scenario we’ve been hearing so much about. All of this is still speculation though as all we have to go by are tweets from Google employees after they were given a new handset to play around with. From the odd and blurry images making the rounds it seems like this device will run on what looks like a variant of the Android platform which would an obvious conclusion but you never know.
According to a few posts here and there it seems like the handset, Nexus One or Phone 88 or whatever they’re calling it, will be using an Android like system with a few tweaks that could include 3D like flipping of icons instead of normal scrolling. Word is that this new system would also be much faster than even Motorola’s DROID. Look out MOTO. Other rumors also talk about the handset being sold unlocked which is the best news I’ve heard so far. I’m still a bit confused with the whole ‘Google Phone’ bit as it was presumed that Android handset’s in most ways came off as the same only without an official Google branding.
