• Hot Wheels unveils iNitro cars controllable via iPhone application

  • Hot Wheels has given us yet another reason to look up at the iPhone with awe. These little cars that a considerable number of us have spent some jolly good childhood cars playing with are now moving towards the technologically-advanced side of toy design. Behold Hot Wheels’ newest brainchild, the iNitro Speeders Kit. These cars hook up to iPhones and can be remotely controlled via an iOS application. The application enables you to use the phone as a joystick with a dual controller. Also, the phone’s accelerometer can be used to control the toy car, having you chose pre-defined paths or your own. Using infrared signals and an included infrared module that plugs into an iPhone’s audio port, the iNitro Speeders Kit also comes with a physical controller, for those without an iPhone.
