J J Abrams treats terminal Star Trek fan to entire screening of ‘Star Trek Into Darkness’
Many of us would pay with an arm and a leg for this one but it wouldn’t be righteous as this gesture. J J Abrams holds the secrets and keys to his next big Star Trek movie, ‘Star Trek Into Darkness’ and we’re all eager to set our eyes on the plot. However, news went out on blogs and news sources that a fan of the Star Trek series, named Dan, was diagnosed with two forms of Cancer and was not expected to live long. The latter believed that the promo of the new movie was all he would enjoy. However, it so happened that J J Abrams arranged for Dan and his wife to watch the entire working cut of Star Trek Into Darkness (without some of the finished special effects). This truly goes out to touch the heart of every geek who supported Dan in his losing battle against Cancer. Our prayers and hearts go out to him. Head after the jump for a statement from Dan’s wife.

“Hi everyone, it’s Daniel’s wife, we are of course sworn to secrecy, BUT we are officially allowed to say we saw it and we enjoyed it IMMENSELY as a film and as a gesture. This is a story of us giving something to him, the ‘internet‘ community giving something to him and ultimately being a heartwarming gift to our friends, family and so many others. This story of us (and of course J.J. Abrams & Bad Robot) being able to give this surprise gift of a screening to a huge movie buff like Daniel, especially a film made by a film maker who obviously makes movies with such care, with a fan like Daniel in mind.”
