• Japanese art collective turns phone-booths into goldfish-tanks to spread prosperity

  • For the Japanese, goldfish and Kois have always been considered a lucky charm. Considered as mascots of happiness and prosperity, the Japanese have long since had little glass pots with goldfish in them at home. Now, Kansai-based art collective Kingyobu (Goldfish Club) has taken the initiative to spread a little charm across Osaka, and has winded up filling phone-booths with water and turning these into oversized goldfish-tanks. Propped up across Osaka, these tanks are pretty eye-catching indeed and have been shocking passersby and turning heads ever since they first showed up. a great way to spread a load of goodwill and joy amongst the residents of Osaka, this initiative by Kingyobu is magical indeed.
