Jurassic World Sequel, Slot Machine In the Works
Dino fans, rejoice! A sequel to last year’s blockbuster, Jurassic World, is in the works, set to be released toward the end of June 2018. Boo… that’s a very long time to wait, right? Well, for Jurassic World we had to wait even longer – 14 years have passed between the forgettable third installment of the original series and last year’s reboot. Luckily, we have some games to ease the wait. Like Jurassic Park, a slot machine released in 2014 at the All Slots Casino Canada, and its upcoming sequel, set to be released this fall.
Jurassic World slot machine in the works
Universal has made its announcement for the second installment of the modern-day dinosaur saga earlier this year, setting the date of the premiere on the 22nd of June, 2018. But it has made other arrangement in the background to keep last year’s memories alive: the launch of a slot machine based on the movie.
The software developer that provides the All Slots Casino Canada with its games has made the announcement this February: it has signed a deal with Universal Brand Development for a Jurassic World slot machine. The news didn’t get too much press coverage, mostly because of the All Slots Casino’s nature – it is a real money gaming destination. But this doesn’t make it less important, Head over and play slot machines at All Slots.
What to expect
The All Slots Casino already has a Jurassic Park themed slot machine in its library, inspired by the 1993 blockbuster. And it’s a nice piece of software, too, with a great atmosphere, beautiful graphics, and special features that focus on the true protagonists of the original movie: the dinosaurs. The new game will have some pretty big shoes to fill, but I don’t expect it to be any less than the 2014 game. Just as the original movie set new standards for CGI in 1993, the slot machine version has become a textbook example of great slot machine design. And the new one will most likely exceed its quality, setting the standards even higher.
What do we know about the Jurassic World sequel?
Given the long time left until the release of the movie, the information about it is rather scarce. We know that Chris Pratt will return in the sequel, and will be joined by Bryce Dallas Howard on the silver screen. The story will be written by Derek Connolly and Colin Trevorrow, and the sequel will be directed by Spanish director J.A. Bayona, known for his work on Netflix original Penny Dreadful, and The Orphanage, a critically acclaimed Spanish mystery/thriller.
Plot-wise there is not much to know just yet. Some sources claim that the sequel will be about attempts to weaponize the dinosaurs, turning Vic Hoskins’ (Vincent D’Onofrio) dream into a reality. Apparently, the dinosaurs will finally leave the island, which opens up tons of new possibilities for the movie.
