Lytro Perspective Shifting and Lifting filters change the way already-shot images look
One would think that image editing wouldn’t go beyond the minor color corrections and lighting effects of Photoshop and Instagram. However, there comes to pass a technology that can reduce the time spent by image editing artists significantly, mainly if they’re on perspective adjustment tasks. The Lytro Perspective Shifting and Lifting filters come as a welcome addition to those using Lytro light field cameras. It can be used with regular images as well but can be done so retroactively with Lytro’s shooters. This leads to the possibility of living images, or interactive images, much like the ones you seen in some Daily Prophet scenes in the Harry Potter movies. Users will be able to leverage eight options, namely Carnival, Crayon, Glass, Line Art, Mosaic, Blur+, Pop, Film Noir, and 8-track to change the way images appear, after they have been shot.
Ren Ng, Lytro’s founder and Executive Chairman, was quoted saying, “By capturing the light field, the Lytro camera lets photographers achieve things that were never before possible. The first groundbreaking capability was focusing pictures after they were taken and now we are excited to offer Perspective Shift, which brings living pictures to life in an entirely new way.”
