MIT also working on wireless charging and power supply, Look ma, no wires

The technology to have system set up at home or wherever to wirelessly charge technology is one I’m looking forward too very very eagerly. I hate the whole concept of wires getting in the way all the time. Back in October of last year Nokia had announced they were joining the likes of Dell with wireless charging options for their mobile handsets, and in December Fulton Innovation showed us a live demo of wireless charging. MIT is also working on wireless power support and some of their latest research seems to indicate that their options would possibly allow for multiple devices to charge or be powered simultaneously. They had conceptualized the idea of ‘remote powering’ of devices about three years ago.
The whole concept of wireless charging is dependant on coils that conduct the charges sending and receiving electromagnetic resonance. We’re all looking forward to the wire-free age. Weather it’s MIT or Nokia or Fulton Innovation, I’m not rooting for anyone is particular, I’d just like to see the technology make the commercial scene as soon as possible.
