• Panasonic DMR-BW200 and DMR-BR100 the first Blu-Ray recorders

    Though Sony has still kept its upcoming Blu-Ray recorders under the wraps, Panasonic today announced the first Blu-Ray hybrid recorders the DMR-BW200 and DMR-BR100. The DMR-BW200 i the high-end model and comes with a 500 GB hard drive along with 2 Digital Tuners and 1 Analog and the DMR-BR100 comes with a 200 GB hard drive and a single Digital / Analog tuner.. Standard features include Blu-Ray disc playback, Recording on BD-R/RE single / dual layer discs and hard drive and High speed dubbing from hard drive to BD-R/RE discs, recording on DVD-R/RW/RAM and DVD-R DL media and SD card slot with SDHC support. The DMR-BW200 comes with i-Link or Firewire for connecting Digital video cameras and Ethernet slot for connecting to the Internet for program guides and other info.


    The Panasonic DMR-BW200 and DMR-BR100 both measure 430×332×85mm and weigh 5.5kg and 5.3 kg respectively. They will be available in Japan from November 15th for 300,000 Yen ($ 2550) and 240,000 Yen ($ 2050).
