Pioneer introduces car ent systems with HDD
Fresh from Ceatec, Pioneer presents its range of Car Entertainment systems featuring a built in 30 GB hard drive and 7″ wide TFT-LCD (234 x 480). There are in all 5 models the AVIC-HRZ99 and AVIC-HRZ88 feature a MD deck whereas the AVIC-HRV22, AVIC-HRZ99G and AVIC-HRZ88G have a terrestrial TV tuner. All the models come with GPS and the navigation map is displayed on the huge 7 inch screen with easy to understand directions. You can copy your audio CD’s to the onboard hard drive but the CD’s are ripped in Atrac3 format. The CD / DVD drive can read MP3 / WMA discs too and the unit comes with a FM tuner and an amplifier which delivers output of 50W×4ch. An optional iPod adapter will also be available later for use with the system.
Pioneer will be launching the systems in Japan by late October.
