• Princess and the Pea Alarm Clock is set to give you a real rude awakening

  • The alarm rigged inflatable mattress seems like an idea Dilton Doiley would have come up in some oddball Archie adventure. It is nevertheless a idea that was just waiting to happen. The idea is so simple it’s ludicrous. The designer Jeff Saltzman made it really simply. He rigged an alarm clock to an air compressor that he placed under one side of his bed. When the alarm goes off you better be awake or be prepared for a rude awakening, literally! The alarm triggers the air compressor to inflate and tilt the bed so the ‘user’ would just slide off. He’s called his bed the Princess and the Pea Alarm Clock (“PPAC”). Catchy name although the story isn’t quite the same as the reality, but what a way to get rid of pesky guests.
