Qantas Airline ditches BlackBerry; plans to distribute iPhones to its employees instead
And just when Research in motion thought the BlackBerry device to be the corporate world’s best mate, Australian airliner Qantas thought otherwise. The airline has decided to ditch the good old BlackBerry and provide its employees with iPhones instead. After having distributed 1,300 BlackBerry devices amongst its employees, Qantas has decided to switch to the Apple iPhone instead, stating that the move will help save overhead costs and by large, the phone better serves the employee’s needs than a BlackBerry. Also, RIM seems to have lost out its corporate-friendly USP, given the fact that the Apple iOS too supports business-related applications now, making the iPhone a better device to rely on.
