• Re-wired offers a unique opportunity to be touched by sound

Strange contraptions aren’t always useless. We’ve seen some brilliant exoskeletons being put to practical use, benefitting differently abled people. Amelia Marzec was inflicted by the loss of hearing in one of her ears and so decided to make things matter for those who shared the similar plight. She led the creation of Re-wired, a uniquely capable helmet that converts ambient sound into haptic feedback. It will remind you of the experiences from August Rush or the Daredevil. The helmet lets you feel sound, no matter how low or loud, with the intensity relational to the volume. It’s a truly novel finding and one that makes absolute sense in this chaotic world of the able bodied.
