Robotic penguins that can swim and fly

The robotic penguins were unveiled by German engineering firm Festo. These penguins use flippers helping them to paddle through water just like the real ones while larger penguins that are helium filled can swim through air. Currently these penguins are on display at the Hannover Messe Trade Exhibition in Germany. Each penguin carries 3D sonar which was developed by EvoLogics in Berlin, Germany, which is used to monitor its surroundings and avoid collisions with walls and other penguins. These bionic penguins can twist their head just like the real ones because of their flexible glass fibre rods that control their heads. Looks like researchers and developers are getting very much inspired by nature.
