Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 locks horns with iPad Mini
It may be something of note that the stylus-enabled Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 has come in delivering all the promises made to us through early leaks, however, little did we fathom its impact on the iPad Mini market. The Note 8.0 enters with a screen that’s a tenth of an inch larger than the iPad Mini but packs a better 1280×800 pixels resolution with 189 ppi, against the Mini’s 163 ppi. It will however share the same 5-megapixel/1.2-megapixel, back/front camera capability of the Mini. It gets strangely heavier than the iPad Mini, even with a plastic body instead of a metal. There may be a Wi-Fi only model arriving with the regular, cellular Note 8.0, though, HSPA+ is also expected. The pressure-sensitive S Pen stylus enables handwriting recognition and several other gesture-based shortcuts.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 is Samsung’s giant step into the mid-sized tablet segment and there’s prospect that it may budge into Apple’s market. Of course, a lot of this depends on the pricing and availability, that’s yet not known.
