Samsung Galaxy S III’s Face Unlock fails to differentiate between photographs and real faces
It sure seems like Android’s having problems differentiating between real faces and images of the same yet again, making the Samsung Galaxy S III now penetrable with the Face Unlock feature seemingly failing. Just recently, IBTimes UK conducted a test using a photograph to unlock the Samsung Galaxy S III smartphone instead of the user’s real face, showing the apparent security threat to this phone a mischief maker could cause. The Face Unlock feature, available on Android Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0, has on previous occasions failed to differentiate between real faces and photographs, and we suggest you switch to more secure phone locks, like a PIN/password.
