Samsung announces world’s first 8M CMOS camera module for cell phones
All set to start the megapixel war among camera phones Samsung Electro has developed world’s first 8M CMOS camera module for a cellphone. Featuring a CMOS sensor, this 8M camera module measures only 10.5 X 11.5 X 9.4mm and supports auto focus, which means that it can still maintain a small form factor similar to the size of current 3M camera phone while offering the performance of 8M camera phone. Samsung gives credit to Peizo technology for this invention. The CMOS module goes into production by first half of next year.
