• Samsung beats Apple in the Australian smartphone market, says IDC report

  • iPhone 4S might be seducing tech pundits with Siri, but its Samsung that is ruling the heart of Aussies. Here is a report that shows that Samsung is presently crowning the top position in the mobile market of Australia. Some of the reasons cited here includes the well-handled launch of their latest Galaxy Nexus device which wasn’t succeeded by cruel teasing as earlier seen with other giants. IDC reports that the Android part owns as much as 49% of the entire smartphone market share in Australia, with Apple iOS ruling at 365 market share.

    Statistics suggest that the shifting trend is owing to the fact that people are now being attracted to low-cost Android smartphones which offer a range of functionalities for a justified price tag. Let us see if the upcoming Windows phones have it in them to steal the mojo from their Android and Apple counterparts.
