The Skully AR-1 smart motorcycle helmet sports a heads-up display and more for $1,399
We love innovations that look as conventional as possible but pack in functions the world has never seen before, like the Skully AR-1 helmet. While this Power Ranger-esque helmet looks extremely cool and would go well with a matte-black motorcycle and some leather riding gear, this one’s also a nerd’s dream! Crowned to be the world’s smartest helmet, the Skully AR-1 will keep your head safe and will also make riding an easier affair. Here’s how. This helmet sports a rear-view camera as well as a “heads-up display” that shows information such as speed, directions, fuel levels and caller ID, within the rider’s line of sight!
And that’s not all. The helmet also connects with a smartphone via Bluetooth and can hook up to various internet-based applications like GPS maps and more. All of this information is displayed on the helmet’s visor for the rider. To do all of this, the Skully AR-1 sports a battery that requires charging and can keep the helmet powered on for a good 9 hours on a full charge. The helmet by Skully Systems, a San Francisco-based startup, has managed to raise more than $800,000 already, approximately three times the amount required for its crowd-funding! To buy one, you’ll need to pre-order it for $1,399 a pop.
