Sony to launch 3 limited edition Hatsune Miku 5th Anniversary walkmans in Japan

We live in a world where celebrations are part of our lifestyle, we tend to celebrate every little possible occasion we possibly can. In such a scenario, Sony doesn’t want to miss a chance too, thus it has come up with three limited edition Hatsune Miku 5th Anniversary models of its Walkman S series to celebrate the 5th Anniversary of the virtual singer Hatsune Miku.


The three models are NW-S764K / L with external speakers, NW-S764 L and NW-S764 B, all in blue and black colors. Based on the Walkman S series these music players come with noise cancelling headphones and Bluetooth with Hatsune Miku engraved on the back and adorned on the on screen as wallpaper. Sony has also gone further in with the Miku fantasy by limiting the three models to 3,939 units only – 39 is pronounced as Miku in Japanese.

The limited edition music players will go on sale in Japan sometime later this month and will be exclusively available through Sony’s online store at NW-S764K / L with external speakers selling at 12,800 yen (about US$160) while NW-S764 L and NW-S764 B sans speakers selling for 15,800 yen (about US$200).
