• Sony Xperia Tablet Z to arrive with 1.5GHz quad-core CPU, NFC

  • Sony’s venture into the tablet market continues deeper and bolder with the arrival of the Xperia Tablet Z. The 10.1-inch Android 4.1 Jelly Bean device will arrive with a a Qualcomm 1.5GHz quad-core APQ8064 processor, 2GB RAM, 32GB storage, microSD expansion, a 10.1-inch 1,920 x 1,200 screen (with Mobile Bravia Engine 2), an 8.1-megapixel Exmor R camera, NFC, LTE (MDM9215M radio), 6.9mm thickness, a 495 gram body and Sony’s S-Force virtual surround sound technology. There’s also word of a 6,000mAh battery. This in line with a few tablets that it may dare to rival.

It seems quite chunky and definitely doesn’t promise good ergonomics. However, we hope that the waterproof/dustproof aspect of it makes it a better pick than lesser home-grown tablets.
