Sony’s Vaio Z and Y series Laptops Can Be Your Very Own Personal Hotspot

Sony’s Vaio range is expanding all the time as these guys keep coming up with newer and better devices in short spans. It’s getting difficult to keep up. The latest is their Vaio Z and Y Series laptops that classified by the company as the world’s first out-of-the box laptops that act as a personal hotspot. A system called SMC (Share My Connection) allows a few select models of these series to share net connectivity with other devices like smartphones, mp3 players, and cameras with a subscription (obviously). Verizon has been chosen this time as your mobile access provider.

The Z model is designed to offers premium portability and serious power at just 3.0 lbs with its durable carbon fiber and aluminum casing. Seven hours of battery life is what they’ve promised. This model has a 13.1-inch high-resolution LED backlit widescreen display that can deliver a bright picture with 100 percent color saturation and an optical drive (Blu-ray optical drive optional). The second i.e. the Y Series laptops will be vailble in five funky colors – purple violet, fuchsia pink, pear green, teal blue and black. They have a 1.2-inch profile and 13.3-inch LED backlit widescreen display. The sleek Y model offers lower power consumption for improved battery life for that active student lifestyle.
They’re available now for pre-sale at www.sony.com/SMC and at select retailers around the US for about $770 for the VAIO Y Series and $1950 for the VAIO Z Series.
