• The Genius SlimStar 820 keyboard uses solar power

My son is in the fifth grade and in his environmental studies class he is learning the cause and effects of our depleting natural resources. He has figured this out, that we need to shift from coal, oil, chemical sources of energy to wind, water and solar. Solar energy as we know is free and abundant, cause the sun’s gonna keep shining for a long, long time. My little ‘go-green’ guy is going to be impressed when I tell him more about the Genius SlimStar 820. This keyboard has a solar panel to draw on energy from light sources and then to recharge the unit’s built-in battery. Located at the top right, the panel is able to adjust itself to absorb as much light as possible. To make it peppy, it has many multimedia hotkeys too. Since it is hybrid powered, incase you are low on the natural light, power san be sourced via the USB cable charger.

Paradoxically the 1600dpi laser mouse requires 4 AA batteries that negate the environment-friendly issue. But on the positive side the batteries last you for up to 15 months.
