The new Xbox 360 Slim announced by Microsoft at E3 2010 is one sexy piece of hardware

Out with the old and in with the new, that’s not exactly what Microsoft is saying with the announcement of the new Xbox 360 Slim. But if you do want to upgrade to a sexy new style that won’t look like a plain old white console (that does have its on charm I have to admit), the super cool Xbox 360 Slim is what you need. Aside from the weight loss and reduction in dimensions, this baby has taken on a few extras like a 256 Gig built in HDD and Wi-Fi. According to Gizmodo, the new device will also be a lot quieter (is that possible???) and the 250GB hard drive, should that much space ever get fully consumed is swappable. The problem is that it’s not backward compatible with older hard drives and memory units. If you’re upgrading to the new console you can transfer your data to the new device via standard old 16GB USB drive or simply go with the old hard drive transfer cable. The cable is priced at $20 in case you need to buy one.
Aside from that the list of ports now includes -
five USB ports – three in the back and two in the front
HDMI (cable not included)
Optical Audio
Microsoft has also made allowances for their Kinect system so a custom port that’s not exactly your run of the mill standardized USB port has been added that can feed more power.
The power supply has also been ‘adjusted’ and may not be much smaller but it is lighter
The new Slim also comes with a single large fan for cooling. A few changes have also been made to the controller. Those include -a chrome Xbox button, Xbox logo on the back and squared off shoulder buttons.
