The TouchID is an incredible feature its fast and from what we can see at the hands on videos it is accurate as well. So now apart from your location, your data, your browsing history, and a host of other personal information the phone will now carry your fingerprint. Apple’s Phil Schiller assured the crowds at the event that the fingerprint data is encrypted and stored in a secure location, it is not made available to other applications or backed up along with iCloud data. As assuring it may sound, there have been reports in the New York Times and the Guardian that suggest that the NSA has found a way to get around that issue by effectively breaking the popular Internet encryption technologies. Thanks to the agencies prolonged efforts saying that data is protected because it is encrypted is no longer true. Incidentally Apple was one of the companies that was a feeder to the governments PRISM program. What do you guys think, are we handing more crucial data to the government on a silver platter or are we just being paranoid?
