• Touch-screen panel integrating tactile display gives the sensation of touch on your palm

The guys at the Kajimoto Laboratory at the University of Electro-Communications have come up with a touch-screen that you can feel, literally! This Palm Touch Panel transmits tactile information from the screen to the palm of your hand. The back of the panel integrates a tactile display screen while the front uses a touch panel. On touching the panel on the front side, the electrical tactile screen lying face down on your palm transmits the touch sensation at the same spot. So, touching icons and graphics on the screen gives you the sensation of touch on your palm.

We aren’t really sure though how this could help, technologically and in terms of entertainment. Why bother with a touch panel when you could simply poke your own palm!
