Tweets bring Morse Code to life in Copenhagen
There’s always that tinge of awe that we feel, each time we hear Graham Bell’s first words to his trusted crony over the first telephonic interaction. Now we’re in year 2012 and things are a little too complex to tie up with the analogy of the phone. So we have this exciting new find in Copenhagen where students from the Institute of Interaction Design came up with a Morse Code usage that translates in to Tweets. The first message here is quite different from Bell’s legendary quote. It goes something like “I just washed my face and brushed my teeth.” This was quite effectively executed and managed to get a message across from one side of the harbor to the other. The light signals are triggered off by an iPad and hey, we’re not seeing maritime history being made here but surely a great concept exhumed, thanks to social networking.
