Twitter buys Mixer Labs in order to map tweets

by Gareth Mankoo

Twitter is getting better with its functionality. Now, with the acquisition of Mixer Labs, the microblogging site can well exploit the GeoAPI, location tracking tool. Now we can expect to have some geo-tagging or something of the sort, this will help followers understand where the tweet has been posted as well as by who and at what time. The network’s bound to grow and give out more useful information than ever before. Hence, we will see the few unconvinced folk who haven’t joined it yet, give it a second thought. Twitter is said to have claimed about 58 million people already. The company is said to have raised about $155 million from investors.
