US Navy launches fastest ship USS Freedom to fight pirates
US Navy personnel can now relax. They have invented something, yes, despite the recession and most companies going emptier than a stadium on non-game days that will help them fight pirates than just wait to get captured. It is a new high tech ship called USS Freedom (how typical). It can apparently go up against massive enemy fleets and is one of the fastest ships in the Navy to date. It can now chase down pirates off the coast of Somalia faster and more aggressively than previous vessels could.
The USS Freedom has a modular design and requires fewer crew members — about 40 in total. It can go up to 45 mph. it is even being called the Navy’s corvette. Seriously? Driving a speed car and racing a gigantic vessel are not PRECISELY the same kind.
