• You could have a Star Trek like Holodeck right in your home soon thanks to the RT2 chara AR Project

  • Star Trek Holodeck 1 thumb 450x211
A real live (so to speak) Holodeck in your home, now that’s the dream. But that dream is soon to become a reality thanks to the RT2 chara AR Project. The guys working on this project that was Demoed at Digital Content Expo 2010 are quite close to simulating all kinds of things in an Augmented Reality scenario all around you right in your home. The RT2 AR chara Project uses motion capture technology and CG in this system that’s designed to create networked, real-time augmented reality environments mimicking the USS enterprise’s famous holodeck. So if you were to suddenly get bored with your cumbersome or dingy apartment you could get a simulation of the Playboy Mansion up and running. Ok so that was a little far fetched but I say why not!
