Pioneer TF-FS55M-S best of both worlds
Pioneer communications Japan a division of Pioneer Electronics has announced the TF-FS55M-S which is a combination of VoIP (Skype) and a normal (PSTN) landline. The phone works simantaneously with both Skype and PSTN networks it has a large LCD which displays login state, contacts and status of contacts in respect to Skype. As for PSTN connection it can store 100 contacts. The phone has a talk time of 9 hours and standby time of 160 hours. It connects to the host via USB and is compatible with Windows 2000 / XP PC’s only.

At the E3 expo Sandio announced the “Game O” a 3D gaming mouse. The Game O’ offers gamers a way to move forward, backward, sideward, jump, crouch, pitch, yaw and roll without using the keyboard. Gamers’ left hands are free to execute commands that were mutually exclusive with WASD keys. In RTS and RPG, gamers are able to issue game commands while simultaneously adjusting the screen view during online battles, as they no longer have to move the cursor to the edge of the screen to move the camera. Sandio technology also offers a software developer’s kit (SDK) which allows game developers to develop new characters with “6 degrees of freedom (6DOF)” moves that were previously impossible to execute. The laser mouse supports multiple resolutions upto 2000 dpi (400, 800, 1600) and a 16 bit mouse data packet, as par Microsoft’s standard 5-key mouse.

Panasonic is developing a technology to record digital HD (high-definition) images onto SD Memory Cards, following the AVCHD standard for HD digital video cameras. This new HD video recording technology for SD Memory Cards will conform to the AVCHD standard, which uses a highly efficient compression encoding technology to record 1080i*1 or 720p*2 HD images onto 8-cm DVD discs. It will use MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 to compress video files, and Dolby Digital (AC-3) or Linear PCM for audio files. This combination makes it possible to develop HD video cameras that are compact yet deliver high-quality images and sounds.

China based Aomeijia International has developed a PMP which look more like the Sony PSP. The ODM-502 sports a 4.2 inch TFT screen capable of displaying 260k colors and supports a variety of popular audio and video formats like MP3, WMA, ASF and MPEG4. It also supports photo viewing and Ebooks. Recording via microphone and Line In is also supported. The PMP sports a SD/ MMC card slot and accepts memory cards upto 1GB. Also included is AV in and out for recoring via an external source or viewing the PMP contents on the big screen. The ODM-502 specs also include Support the big capacity games function. we are not sure on this but it may support Flash based games or include a built in Emulator.
