• Sony to release a 13.3” A4 size “digital paper” to replace the usage of conventional paper

    Educational Institutions and offices are the two highest consumers of paper for their daily functioning, disappearing forests and its menacing environmental hazards has fuelled the research of alternative means. Sony, Japan, in its bid to replace paper, has come up with a 13.3” A4 size digital paper. The digital terminal features a TFT display in the form of electronic paper with the resolution of 1,600 × 1,200, because it uses E Ink technology it’s extremely power efficient, powered by a Li-ion battery it can run for 3 weeks on a single charge. It is equipped with IEEE 802.11b/g/n wireless LAN (Wi-Fi) for sharing the files over network and has a built in memory on 4GB along with a Micro SD card slot. It weighs 358g and the dimensions are: 310 × 233 × 6.8mm (L × W × T).

    Bluestacks’ Gamepop console offers unlimited mobile games on the TV for $6.99

    Do you love the games available on our smartphone but think a bigger screen size will make it more enjoyable. Bluestacks with its GamePop console promises to bring mobile gaming to your living room. Following the success of Ouya and Gamestick, Bluestacks plans to take them on by bringing in a Netflix-style subscription model. For a price of $6.99 per month the user will get an access to a selection of over 500 games. The company plans to launch the console by this winter and has started taking pre-orders from today. Bluestacks has put up an offer for the pre-order period ending next month; it’s giving away the $100 worth console for free with a year’s subscription.

    iRiver Launches AK120, Premium Quality Audio Player Priced at $1300

    Huggies makes a diaper sensor that tweets when its time for a diaper change

    Huggies along with the advertising agency Ogivly Brasil has developed TweetPee, a diaper attachment which keeps a track of moisture levels and alerts the parents with a tweet or text when junior needs a change. The cute bird shaped sensor sends out the tweets which are then assessed by a mobile app which keeps a track of the diapers used so that you never run out of diapers. Tweetpee as it is called is currently available only in Portuguese, but the way smartphones have crept into our lives its a matter of time before such applications are rolled out worldwide.

    Kevo lock unlocks digitally and wirelessly via the iPhone

    There was a time when wise men predicted the capabilities of smartphones, stating that these devices could soon turn into more than just tools to make and receive calls! Well, it’s all true now as smartphones have now turned into house keys! A company called Kwikset has come up with a way to unlock your home’s doors, using an iPhone. The smart lock called the Kevo can be opened with a traditional key or wirelessly, with the use of a smartphone. All you need to do is tap a few icons on the Kevo iPhone application and voila!

    The HTC First with an AT&T contract now priced at just $0.99!

    Smartphones are great and when these wonders of technology have their price tags axed, tidings as such make us smile like happy infants! Well, the HTC First might not be the best amongst the smartphone brigade, though we do think this mid-range eats up the spotlight when made to lie besides its peers. Exclusive to the AT&T network, this phone was launched just a month ago and HTC has already decided to pull down its price! The phone, running the Android OS, first showed up in April. Priced at $99.99 with a two-year contract or $350 SIM-free, the phone didn’t really manage to have smartphone fans jump up and run down to the nearest store.

    Next Gen Apple Products to feature Invisible Buttons and Sliders?

    Apple produces some of the most well crafted devices. Famous for ultra-sleek designs, their minimalistic design principle is to get rid of all extra buttons wherever possible. It looks like Apple is working on the same philosophy and is trying to bring invisible or hidden buttons on its devices. A new patent application titled “Disappearing Button or Slider”, disclosed by “Patently Apple”, hints that Apple is working on a new type button control, hidden or invisible when not in use.

    San Francisco to Host the Biggest Photowalk on May 14th

    Thomas Hawk, famous professional photographer, along with his buddies Trey Ratcliff and Robert Scoble, has teamed up with Google+ to organize the biggest Photowalk in the history. The event is scheduled for next Tuesday, May 14th, in San Francisco. There’s more to it, there will be an after party and a lucky participant will go home with an all new Google Glass. More than 700 people have already registered for the event. Not only the event is free, there is no bar on the equipment or the skill level, you don’t necessarily need to own a pricy DSLR, even a smartphone cam will do. Details regarding the exact meeting location and route haven’t been released yet, but the walk will start at 5:30pm local time. So if you love photography and you’re near SF bay area on the 14th, get yourself registered, who knows you might end up wining the Google Glass.
