400-foot-long mammoth truck designed using Autodesk Simulation software

When it comes to building vehicles big, the Perkins Specialized Transportation Contracting firm seems to have mastered the trade. Recently, the guys at Perkins used Autodesk Simulation to design a massive 400-foot-long truck meant to transport colossal nuclear generators. After working on the design for nearly three years, the designers finally developed this enormous 192-wheel machine that recently successfully carried four steam generators from San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station in Southern California to a disposal site in Clive, Utah. With 48 axles each of which can independently be turned, the truck is one of those few vehicles out there whose design was conceived digitally.
