The mobile OS race has definitely got Android in a strong lead. New Android powered devices from Slates to mobile handsets and a few media players like Philips’ GoGear Connect are cropping up all the time. AT&T is also making sure that their customers are happy (and it’s not often that they do that) by announce a bunch of new Android handsets from Motorola. All of these device will come with Android 2.1 out of the box and MotoBlur for social networking. It’s possible that they could be upgraded to Froyo at a later date. Check them out –
First off is the Motorola Flip Out that we thought would just head one over to the mobile graveyard straight off. With its 2.8 inch touchscreen display and QWERTY keypad, 3G, GPS, Wi-Fi and 3MP it’s due out this month, on the 17th to be precise at $79.99 on contract.
Then there’s the Flipside that’s loaded up with a 3.1 inch touchscreen display with a large looking touch sensitive trackpad underneath, a more conventional slide-out QWERTY keypad and the same trimmings as the Flip Out viz. 3G, Wi-Fi, GPS, 3MP camera. This one’s price tag is $99.99 with a contract of course and will be out in time for the holidays.
The third Motorola AT&T offer is the more impressive, less high-school-looking Motorola MB520 aka the Kobe aka Diablo aka the Moto Bravo. This baby comes equipped with a large 3.7-inch touchscreen with a 480 x 854 pixel resolution, an 800MHz TI OMAP 3610 processor with 2GB ROM, 3G, GPS, Wi-Fi and a 3MP camera (They should have gone higher with this one). The Bravo will also be available on contract for $129.99 for the holiday season this year.
