Where I come from, Archos is relatively a big deal with its 605 and especially the Archos 7 tablet with its array of multimedia and connectivity functionality. But they do have an expertise in media players as well and this, their latest, the Archos 1 Vision is designed for those whose pants don’t come with deep pockets. This entry level DAP comes with a 1.5-inch display and 4 Gigs of internal memory which is quite a lot of space today. It can read MP3, WMA. FLAC, WAV and APE formats for audio and JPEG images for those who wish to squint to see their pictures. Other features include a built-in microphone so you can take voice memos. That’s pretty much all it does. No more no less and no price yet either.
