Asus has launched two ultra slim GPS-PDA’s the A686 and A696. The palm sized devices are just 1.57mm thick and are enclosed in a stainless steel case instead of flimsy plastic. It has full GPS functionality without a protruding antenna, information is displayed on an anti-glare 3.5-inch color screen. The GPS module uses the latest SiRF Star III chipset. The A686 runs on an Intel XScale 312Mhz processor, 128MB flash ROM, and 64MB SDRAM, while the A696 runs on an Intel XScale 416Mhz processor, 256MB flash ROM, and 64MB SDRAM.

Asus MyPal A686 will be available in the US by First Quarter of 2007 for approx $ 400 whereas the A696 will be available by February for $500.
