NHK and Sharp are developing what may be the future of high definition television. Measuring 85 inches across and supporting the Super High vision standard the panel supports a resolution of 7,680×4,320 pixels, yes that is correct there is no typo here. Just to be put it in perspective it is 16 times the resolution of HDTV. This is the first LCD panel supporting the SHV (Super high vision) standard, the panel is developed using the company’s proprietary UV2A technology. A long way from getting commercialized NHK is aiming for a test broadcast in 2020.
