Madison – S e xual predators in Wisconsin would have to wear a G-P-S monitoring device for the rest of their lives under a bill the state Assembly passed today. The bill would require the state Department of Corrections to use global positioning technology to track anyone deemed s e xually violent under state statutes until the offender dies or is physically incapacitated and no longer presents any danger.
Serious child molesters also would have to wear G-P-S trackers for 20 years after they’re released from prison. The measure now goes to the state Senate. If that body passes the bill, it would then go to Governor Doyle, who can sign it into law or veto it. Doyle’s office says the governor supports the measure. Via – CBS58
