When the name ‘Bugatti’ pops up in conversation in my circles, a unanimous sigh of ‘wanting’ can be heard. Now, if we hear the name Bugatti Veyron, there’s nothing but silence. Sure it’s expensive, I mean what can you expect, it’s a Bugatti right? The price tag on this baby is a cool $1.2 Million but here’s the break up – the Michelin Pilot Sport 2s tires fashioned with the Veyron’s unique compound cost about $30,000 and Bugatti recommends you change them every 2,500 miles. Then at every ten thousand miles the company recommends changing the wheels and tires, which is a bit more than $50,000. Let’s not forget routine maintenance, services, cleaning, insurance (that can’t be cheap) and of course you’ll have to pay a specialist just to wash it and keep it shiny.
On the plus side it’s gorgeous enough to just keep in a showcase at home and then you won’t have to spend a dime on it other than for the specialist cleaner. But that would be awfully stupid. I’d love to watch people get whiplash from spinning their heads around to see me drive by. Yeah that’s my mean streak, then again it’s the car that bring it out. Like Bat-Man said – It’s the car isn’t it? Chicks dig the car.
