CargoGuitar: Once a cargo truck, now a guitar

cargo-container-guitar-1The CargoGuitar is taking blogs by storm. This ingenious design of a once-functional-cargo-container-turned-into-instrument (phew!) seems to be quite the thing for this generation. We’re tired of seeing cargo containers only make it in crime dramas. A collaboration between artists Marcelo Ertorteguy, Takahiro Fukuda, and Sara Valente saw this notorious urban legend converted to a giant musical instrument. I wouldn’t know if they call it a guitar, per say, but the CargoGuitar is actually playable. It is made up of eight giant strings, which are stretched across the interior of the guitar. The tuning pegs are found at the far end and work just like an actual guitar’s tuning end. In fact, CargoGuitar is an electric instrument with a pair of ¼ inch input jacks that connect to their respective amplifiers.

cargo-container-guitar-2As if this wasn’t surreal enough, the strings of the guitar were made to glow in the dark. This adds more focus on the vibrations of the strings after each pluck and also makes it a very trippy affair.
